Political STFU
To those on my friends list who can't shut up about the elections:

Either recognise that being in a country with individuals who can vote means at least SOME will vote differently from you, or move to a country with a dictator. Seriously!

I am SO sick of reading rants about this candidate, that candidate - they're people, you know? I get so utterly revolted and sickened by humanity during election time. I stop reading my non-fandom friends journals til it's well over, except the decay's crept more and more into my fandom friends' journals too. It's to the point I have this vague, ill-feeling dread every time I go to check my friends list.

And the people who say "If you vote X, I can't be friends with you" - are we honestly kindergarteners again??

I hate politics. I always have, and I always will. It brings out the very worst in people, no matter WHICH side you're voting for. It's like throwing a bunch of monkeys into a compound - the poo starts to fly. THIS is why America gets nowhere - no one's concerned with who might do America the most good, or who can bring together both parties (can they be called 'parties' when there's nothing remotely fun about them? Why not call them 'armies' or 'teams' or 'rivals' or something?). Everyone IS concerned with who can dig out the most TRASH on someone.

Someday it'd be cool to have an election where instead of mudslinging, people make daisy chains and have contests on who can dig up the most GOOD about other people....but people just aren't able to get along maturely, I guess.

If you want to defriend ME because I can't stand listening to people bicker about politics, feel free. I reiterate: I LOATHE politics. I loathe listening to people TALK politics. I loathe the level of pig-headedness people descend to during election time. I hate how people lose their humanity and sanity during election time.

And I really just wish people would grow up and STFU.
